Health, Safety And Compliance Officer in West Sussex

My client requires a Health, Safety and Compliance Officer for their business in the south coast area.

The role pays handsomely and would suit someone already in a similar role or an existing service manager or general manager looking for something different. It is a Monday to Friday role and comes with a company car, expenses and benefits as there would be a high element of travelling involved.

A health and safety and compliance officer's job is to ensure that the health and safety of employees and the general public is protected in the workplace and ensures that an organisation adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Their responsibilities could include:
• Developing policies: Create and update health and safety policies and procedures
• Training: Advise and train staff on health and safety practices
• Auditing: Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and procedures
• Risk assessments: Conduct risk assessments for activities and ensure that risk control measures are in place
• Investigating: Investigate accidents and health and safety incidents
• Recording: Record and highlight health and safety issues
• Communicating: Create regular communications to staff and liaise with HR and managers
• Maintaining: Maintain first aid arrangements and ensure they are up to date
• Staying up to date: Keep up to date with current and new health and safety legislation
